So Google Research in Africa has used AI to massively up-level the Open Buildings data set - transforming blurry, low-res satellite imagery into useful, high-res, temporal building and height data from 2016 to 2023 - allowing partners from NGOs to crisis response organizations can see how the areas they serve are changing over time, and use this information to ensure that global development includes everyone.
