America Takes a Knee: "America Takes a Knee" is the first episode of a web docu-series zeroing in on Police brutality and racism in America. George Floyd's death or "modern day lynching", as many have called it, sparked protests around the nation and the world seeking Police reform. With President Trump fanning the flames of his base, tensions run high and violence ensues; but soon we witness the impossible - the Police take a knee as a sign of solidarity and commence to march with the protesters. They are followed by the banning of the confederate flag at NASCAR events and the admission by the NFL that they were wrong not to support Colin Kaepernick - taking a knee during the national anthem was and continues to be his constitutionally protected right, thus increasing the hopes for a new change in America. Has racism in America held the mirror to a nation whose history is covered with the blood of Black Americans? And if successfully so, will it force the necessary changes to finally unify a nation this divided? Will president Trump, now labeled the confederate president, continue to divide instead of unify so that he can cinch the re-election in 2020 and maintain - as he's so eloquently put it - total control? Without help from Washington, Mayors, police chiefs, activists and civilians have tackled this issue head on and on their own, with the hope that it will create a stronger bond between the people of their states and their local government. Change isn't easy and it does not come without some sacrifice... and "America Takes a Knee" shows us exactly how hard that is.
