African Bride: Directed by Roy Dames, Jos Driessen. With Gilbert Heijndels. The retired Belgian ex-paratrooper Gilbert rents a house in Diani Beach, Kenya. He loves the climate, the beer and the local women: 'Once you go black, you always go black'. But finding real love is more difficult. African Bride shows in a tragicomic, sometimes painful way how prejudices and cultural differences make the relationship between Gilbert and his African girl-friends virtually impossible.
